Back in May of 2024, Meaglow supplied three of our UHV series hollow cathodes to Angstrom Engineering for inclusion in their new range of Plasma Enhanced Atomic Layer Deposition systems, see link here. We were asked to remain quiet about it until the ALD systems were officially launched. Well, now they’re out there. The picture above shows our Chief Scientist Dr. K. Scott Butcher visiting the Cambridge Ontario, Angstrom Engineering, location back when the plasma sources were delivered. Angstrom Engineering joins a growing number of original equipment manufacturers who now use Meaglow’s hollow cathode plasma sources.
A lot has happened in the year since the three plasma sources were delivered, the Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratories (LBNL), Molecular Foundry, has added one of Angstrom’s plasma enhanced ALD systems to their facility. That makes it three hollow cathode sources that are on the LBNL site, with another two scheduled to be there before the end of the year! It’s good to see our technology being adopted in the highest scientific circles.
